Read the code on the actual coil
A skidplate protects the underside of a search coil from ordinary abrasion. It does not waterproof an otherwise non-waterproof component, deepen signals or make a coil safe to scrape along stones. Manufacturers revise coils while retaining similar names and nominal diameters. Check the moulded coil code, shape, mounting and replacement part number in the exact manual.
